What to Expect during Your Visit to ASAP

Outpatient Opiate and Opioid Treatment: Preparing for Your Visit

Knowing what to expect when undergoing opiate and/or opioid treatment is an important part of the recovery process. ASAP ensures you are prepared from the first call for help, starting from when you arrive at our Wisconsin methadone clinic as outlined in your drug abuse treatment plan.

What to Expect upon Arrival

When you arrive for opiate or opioid treatment in Madison, Kenosha, Green Bay, or Milwaukee, you will first check in at our self-service kiosk. The kiosk provides instructions for any required tasks that must be completed before medication administration can occur, such as reporting to reception, seeing one of our substance abuse counselors, or completing a urine drug screen.

Once all required tasks are complete, you will have a seat in our waiting area and await for dosing notification. All patients are placed in order from initial check-in or once tasks are complete.

Methadone or Suboxone Treatment

If your appointment is for Methadone or Suboxone medication dosing, please arrive at the click to check in. Patient identification numbers will be announced overhead. Once your number is announced, you will present to one of the four private dosing booths. Once inside the private dosing booth, you will use your fingerprint for identification and verbally confirm your patient identification number and Methadone or Suboxone dose, which will be administered as appropriate. The dose will be consumed in the presence of a nurse. Once complete, the visit is finished, and if no counseling appointments or other needs are scheduled to be addressed that day, you will be free to go.

Vivitrol Treatment Appointment

For those on Vivitrol, a follow-up appointment is made with the nurse. Patients will be administered their medication in a private lab at our Vivitrol clinic in Milwaukee, Madison, or Kenosha.
