focused on our Communities

Community Outreach at ASAP Addiction Treatment Clinic

ASAP is dedicated to making a difference in all of the communities we serve. To achieve this, our renowned addiction medicine leadership team has met with numerous health care providers, law enforcement officials, and community leaders to discuss the services available at our clinic, as well as the ASAP goals of improving treatment and success of opioid-addicted patients. The majority of these individuals have visited our facility either for a private tour or during our open house.

Relationships Established with Key Medical Contacts

Our key contacts include medical directors of the Emergency Departments of University of Wisconsin hospital, Meriter hospital, and St. Mary’s hospital in Madison; the medical directors of the hospitalist groups of the same three Madison hospitals; and the medical directors of Maternal Fetal Medicine of UW Health and SSM Health in Madison. Furthermore, we have established a relationship with the Madison Police Department, the Dane County Sheriff and his department, and the MARI program, which allows addicted individuals to avoid prosecution if they decide to enter treatment.

Navigating Addiction Treatment Plans & Timeframes

Typically, the best outcomes for addiction recovery are seen in individuals successfully completing at least one year of treatment. Throughout this year, they meet with our board-certified addiction specialists and certified counseling staff to establish goals and program length. We encourage patients to be active participants in the development of their treatment plan and collaborate with the medical team, empowering them to take ownership of their recovery journey. Together with your staff and doctors, you will determine appropriate medications and maximize treatment opportunities in order to address the all-encompassing nature and scope of addiction.

As with any addiction treatment plan, individuals progress through the program at their own pace. Patients may electively taper from the program and discharge from treatment at any time they choose, though we recommend going through the entire established addiction treatment plan, allowing for the time necessary to become familiar with every aspect of their addiction and develop a better understanding about personal triggers and solutions for lifelong sobriety.

Safe Communities Partnership

ASAP is actively engaged with Safe Communities, an organization that utilizes recovery coaches working with patients in the Emergency Departments and guiding them through the process to gain treatment. We are now their clinic of choice for these referrals, with our physicians on staff ready to admit within three days or, in most cases, less than 24 hours. We also have an established protocol with the Madison Emergency Physicians (St. Mary’s ED) for patients appropriate to begin suboxone therapy in Emergency Department and referral to establish care here at our facility for treatment.

Outreach That Results in Prompt Treatment

As noted, the goal of ASAP addiction treatment centers in Wisconsin is to admit patients to treatment within three days of being seen in the ER, or, in most cases, within 24 hours of contact. Building these established relationships has been beneficial to achieving our ultimate goal of providing state-of-the-art treatment to the community of the City of Madison and the surrounding areas.
